Furthermore, we avoid oils that are high in polyunsaturated fats (PUFA), even the trendy ones like rosehip and sea buckthorn. Instead we sustainably wildcraft rosehips and sea buckthorn from our local Nordic environment and infuse them into oils that are rich in saturated fats. OLIVE OIL, extra virgin | Olea europaea
High in antioxidants and squalane, olive oil has been used since ancient times to fight free radical damage and hydrate skin. JOJOBA OIL | Simmondsia Chinensis
Jojoba is lovely golden oil that closely imitates our skin’s own natural sebum, making it a perfect moisturizer for improving skin elasticity and suppleness. It comes from a desert shrub and has long been used by Native Americans for its many benefits: long-lasting hydration, full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, anti-aging, non-greasy, easily absorbable, gentle, soothing, anti-microbial and non-acnegenic. TAMANU OIL | Calophyllum inophyllum
Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory oil for the skin used for centuries in the South Pacific. Tamanu oil’s unique chemical makeup of fatty acids, coumarins and xanthones are able to penetrate deep into the skin where they have been proven to reduce swelling and chronic irritation. Antibiotic compounds, such as lactone, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria while anti-inflammatory and skin-regenerating compounds heal the skin. This feature of tamanu oil makes it a powerful wrinkle fighter and an ideal choice for aging or irritated skin. Tamanu oil is sustainably made from nuts that fall naturally and are collected by hand, left to cure in the sun and then gently pressed to yield a thick, green oil. MACADAMIA OIL | Macadamia integrifolia
Besides jojoba oil, macadamia oil is the next closest match the natural sebum of our own skin, making it readily absorbable and protective. Each precious drop is SO rich with fatty acids that are perfectly balanced. Palmitoleic and oleic acids assist with cell regeneration. Linoleic acid helps skin retain moisture. And its phytosterols are protective, aid in skin recovery and reduce any inflammation or itchiness. Macadamia Oil is, in our humble opinion, one of the most underrated beauty oils that works wonders for both skin and hair. BABASSU OIL | Orbignya Oleifera
Like coconut oil, babassu oil comes from palm fruit and contains very similar vitamins and fatty acids. However, babassu is lighter and is absorbed faster in skin and hair without leaving a greasy residue. It deeply moisturizes and reduces trans-epidermal water loss to maintain hydration. Babassu oil is anti-microbial and rich in vitamin E, which aids in cell regeneration. SHEA BUTTER, unrefined | Butyrospermum Parkii
Excellent moisturizing and emollient properties. With a phenolic profile similar to that of green tea, shea butter is loaded with skin-healing vitamins A and E as well as skin-loving saturated fats. SEA BUCKTHORN | Hippophae Rhamnoides
Sea buckthorn berries contain more than 100 different kinds of nutrients and bio-active substances including vitamins, fatty acids and free amino acids. They’re immune boosting and anti-aging. The berry’s oil is known to improve skin complexion and a host of skin conditions, calm irritations and reduce scarring. Since sea buckthorn oil is frightening high in unstable polyunsaturated fats (pufas), we chose to harvest wild sea buckthorn from our local environment and infuse them in skin-loving oils to extract all of the berry’s properties. Also known as orange blossom floral water, our neroli hydrosol water comes straight from a south European distiller and is totally pure. GERMAN (BLUE) CHAMOMILE | Matricaria recuitita
An anti-inflammatory superstar, and so gentle that it can be used on everyone, from babies to the elderly. It’s known in German as “alles zutraut,” translating as “capable of anything”. AUSTRALIAN PINK CLAY
Gentle and mild, pink clays are great for sensitive skin. They’re restorative and purifying without stripping skin of its natural oils. Plus they provide a natural boost of minerals which help replenish and balance skin. Australian Pink Clays unique minerals include: Silica (a natural anti-inflammatory substance that helps lock in moisture), Magnesium (helps the skin retain its natural fatty acids), Selenium (an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals) and trace amounts of Zinc (helps the skin heal). FRENCH PINK (ROSE KAOLIN) CLAY

Also called volcanic ash, bentonite clay is the remnant of volcanoes. It contains montmorillonite and carries a negative charge that causes it to attract substances with positive charge – like toxins, bacteria, fungi, etc. Deeply cleanses skin, flushes toxins and removes dirt. Softens skin. Absorbs unwanted, excess moisture. Heals and regenerates tissues. Tones and tightens the skin. KAOLIN WHITE CLAY

COFFEE | Coffee Arabica
Full of antioxidants, coffee is collagen boosting, anti-aging and cellulite-busting. It can also help keep the skin hydrated by reducing transepidermal water loss. It may even protect skin from UV-B ray sun damage. We use ground coffee from an organic, small batch roastery located in the Stockholm archipelago. Their coffee is handcrafted and light-roasted, which means it’s much richer in antioxidants than store-bought dark roasted coffee. VITAMIN E OIL | Tocopherals

CASTILE SOAP | Castile soap
A classic, multi-purpose soap that’s traditionally made with olive oil. Its origins go back to the 11th century and is still widely used today. Our castile soap is high in organic olive oil yet also contains organic coconut oil and organic cocoa butter! It’s 100% natural and pure, mild, extra gentle, rich in lather and suitable for all. BEESWAX | Cera alba
A natural wax formed in the beehive, beeswax is very protective for us too. It forms a natural defense barrier, protecting skin from free radical damage and locking in essential moisture. Beeswax attracts moisture and allows skin to absorb essential water molecules, keeping skin fresh and hydrated. Like honey, beeswax contains antibacterial properties and it can help in keeping your skin clean. Its vitamin A content and antibacterial properties also combat acne. GUAR GUM | Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba

SODIUM BICARBONATE | Sodium bicarbonate
A common baking ingredient we call baking soda, sodium bicarbonate is also a fantastic and natural deodorizing ingredient. It shifts or balances pH levels that ultimately result in eliminating body odor, which is why we include it in our Deodorant Bar. We always promote caution, however when applying sodium bicarbonate, as it can irritate very sensitive skin. And due to its highly alkaline nature, we suggest regular spritzing with Deodorant Spray or Juniper Toner to keep pH levels balanced.

This is a huge topic. We’d have to go through each essential oil individually to really communicate their value. But fundamentally, each essential oil is a distilled concentrate of the plant. Containing around 100 different components, including molecules called terpenes that exhibit antimicrobial properties, tea tree oil is capable of treating a large variety of skin issues, including acne.
